NSWSKC Members to benefit at end of season 2008
Over
the course of the past 4 months the NSW Speedway Kart Club Committee have been
hard at work in putting together a prize pool for the end of season presentation
night that rewards as many drivers as possible for their year long efforts in
the club championship.
Last year the club achieved a height never reached before and was able to give away some $25,000 worth of prizes and awards to its members, courtesy of our corporate partners.
The highlight being a $15k prize pool given to our Midget, Rookie and Junior competitors, which culminated in the top 10 placegetters in each class being rewarded.
This year the Committee, again in conjunction with our Corporate Partners, are pleased to announce an even greater prize pool for all to share.
This year, for the first time in the club’s history, we will be rewarding every driver that has qualified for the 2008 Championship with the NSW Speedway Kart Club.
The total package offered this year to members who, firstly, qualify for the Club Championship and secondly, attend the Annual Presentation Night will exceed $30,000 in total prize pool allocation.
Thanks to the wonderful support from the Club Corporate Partners we are able to provide the following as an indication of what to expect, and with a promise of more to come as we get closer to the end of the year.
Parramatta
Kart Warehouse

But wait there’s more…….
The
awards announced above have already been confirmed, however, due to the on-going
outstanding work of the club’s corporate and marketing coordinator, Mark
Richards, we will have some more exciting news to be confirmed and added in the
coming weeks.
The Executive look forward to making further announcements as our year draws closer to finalisation and hope that you are all able to enjoy the benefits of being a member of the NSW Speedway Kart Club family.

Speedway Kart Grand Prix this weekend proudly sponsored by PR Machine
The
New South Wales Speedway Kart Club
returns to the Nepean Motorsports complex this up coming Sunday (August 24) for
round 6 of the GREAT 2008 championship season.
The Kart Grand Prix round sponsored by the PR Machine will see all the
top NSW speedway karting stars returning to the superb Nepean Motorsports
complex a month after the ultra successful 2008 NSW Speedway Kart Titles.
The two day NSW shootout provided some of the best speedway karting action seen
this year and with the Junior division missing with volunteer duties, the
Midgets, Rookies, Clubman (Heavy & Light) KT Open (Heavy & Light) and the
premier division the Formula 100’s will all be fighting it out in round six.
The newly crowned NSW Title holders Nathan Bailey (KT Light), Steven Mitchell
(Clubman Heavy), John Watton (KT Heavy), David Hopping (Clubman Light), Corey
Foyle (Midgets), Regan Angel (Rookies) and Brent Coghlan (Formula 100) will be
back trying to add another feature win to that successful meeting a month ago.
With just four rounds remaining in the GREAT 2008 season, the battle for the
club championship is certainly hotting up. Club President Wayne Baines lost the
series lead after round five to the current 2007 club champion Michael Jordan
who has 530 compared to Wayne Baines on 513. But following behind is Nathan
Bailey (498), impressive Midget racer Corey Foyle (492), Cameron Coghlan (481)
and fast lady racer Alana Baines (478) complete the top six. So this Sundays
PR Machine Kart Grand Prix
meeting is certainly going to be another tough
but exciting day of racing.
It’s a very family friendly day of great speedway racing with mums dads and the
kids all getting involved at the
NSWSKC meetings.
The Nepean Motorsports complex is situated on Rickards Road, Castlereagh with
racing starting at 10am.
Angels Roofing Accessories NSW Speedway Kart Title 2008
Well
the NSW Speedway Kart Titles are now locked and loaded.
Entries have now closed and have been put up here on the website for drivers to confirm their entry and for the general public to view.
We have ended up with 140 entries and we are very pleased with the support for the meeting.
At this stage the only class to over subscribe is clubman light; however all other classes are close to being full fields.
One highlight of the meeting will be Saturday with the formula 100 races, it has been a long time since a full fields of these karts have raced and with anyone of 6>8 real chances of taking the title, the racing will be fantastic.
This meeting is building with anticipation as we get closer and I know every driver I talk to is itching to go.
These titles have a special feel about them and with all the planning of trade stands , race car displays , commentary and full fields this really is going to be a great weekend for speedway & speedway karting.
There will be a full press release next week detailing some of the exciting plans ,but for now if a driver views and believes his or her name has been missed please contact me on 0418662003 and we will sort it out .
Once again on behalf of the committee thank you to all those who have nominated to race and also the 50 plus volunteers that have put their hand up to help make this meeting possible .
But all this would not be possible with out the wonderful support of Angel’s Roofing Accessories and once again we extend our thanks to Brad and Michele

Angels Roofing Accessories NSW Speedway Kart Title 2008
The 2008 NSW Titles are fast approaching.
This year’s event is predicted to be the biggest on record and as such a number of changes have been made and this will require some assistance from everyone who is intending to enter the event .
You will notice from the supplementary-regulations that this years titles are to be held over two days, as has been the case in the past, but with a twist.
On Saturday, Midgets, Rookies, Juniors and Formula 100 will be running for their respective Titles and on Sunday the Clubman and Senior KT Open Classes will be running.
There are a number of reasons for this, with the main one being that with the prediction of over 150 entries we could not get everyone into the pit area, it will also take far too long to scrutineer 150 karts, post event scrutineering and engine checking on Sunday afternoon of all the classes would take too long, and then, to also allow sufficient time to complete presentation for 8 or 9 classes on Sunday night would become unworkable within our timeframes.
By splitting the event into the two days we cut down on the work each day by half for all our helpers such as scrutineers, lapscorers, officials, etc.
The other reasons are some of our members only need too give up one day of their weekend and if in the event of one day being rained out we only need to bring back that day’s racing the following week and therefore reduce the cost burden on everyone.
It is also hoped that some of the seniors entered for Sunday will offer some help on the Saturday and visa versa for the Parents of the Junior Classes and some of the Formula 100 entrants to volunteer to help out on the Sunday.
One of the most exciting things at the moment is the predicted full field of 20+ Formula 100 karts being entered for the Saturday. It has been a long time rebuilding this class but these Titles will show all the hard work is paying off.
We are predicting for the meeting a full Midget class, an over subscribed Rookies class (therefore needing 2 rounds of heats) , both Junior Light and Heavy, as mentioned above a full field of Formula 100 – and that’s just Saturday.
Sunday should see, over subscribed Clubman Light and Heavy classes, full fields of both Senior KT Light and Heavy.
Atmosphere over the weekend will be supplied by a number of different plans. Giving us commentary will be Pinky , Kev and Greg, with Pinky playing music throughout the weekend, The NOS Sprints will be displaying cars on Saturday and we have invited our sponsors to have stalls and displays in the spectator area and a number of other surprises are planned.
However before this can all happen you need to pre-enter the event as no late entries will be accepted. Your entry form must be received by the club by the close date on the supplementary-regulations.
This needs to happen so we can plan a seamless titles and ensure things run smoothly for you the member.
As I stated before this will be the biggest event Speedway Karting has seen since the inception of our form of karting and you really should be apart of it.
The weekend of the NSW Speedway Kart Titles for 2008 is being made possible by the fantastic support of Angels Roofing Accessories and I would like everyone when they get a chance to thank Brad and Michelle for their generous support.
In closing, the important issues to remember are:-
NSW Speedway Kart Titles
When:- 26th & 27th July 2008
Rain Dates:- 2nd & 3rd August 2008
No Late Entries Accepted
Entries must be received by the close date noted on the Supplementary Regulations
More information and some surprising ideas are being planned for this year’s event so make your plans now.
If you need further information then please refer to the Executive of NSW Speedway Kart Club.
